China Institute Grants
In 2008, the China Institute (CIUA) lunched its Multiple Funding Programs. Since then, CIUA has been offering funding to faculty members, researchers and students at the U of A supporting their China related activities as well as to bring distinguished scholars to campus to share their knowledge and research. These activities have greatly strengthened the linkage between the U of A and our partner universities in China, as well as promoted the the level of understanding of China and Chinese culture on campus.
Currently, CIUA offers Academic and Student Travel Grants and Research Grants to faculty members and students, Special Faculty Initiatives supporting conferences, lectures and seminars, and Visiting Scholar Grants. For instructions on how to apply, please visit individual grant pages.
In the past year, CIUA offered over half-million dollars supporting these China related activities. For a list of grants awarded by CIUA in the academic year 2009-2010, please visit here.
This website also provides information on a variety of scholarships offered by other institutions supporting research projects and studies related to China. To learn more, please visit the Info for Students section.
